The wood has a striking resemblance to Zebrawood, though slightly less brown with more of a pinkish color. The grain is straight, interlocked, and sometimes irregular.

What's the Tree Like?
The trees attain a height of 100 to 130 feet (30 to 40 m), with a trunk diameter of 36 to 48 inches (90 to 120 cm) over occasional fluted, low buttresses. Boles are reported to be often irregular.

The wood arrived in perfect condition without a scratch on it. I am pleased that it was slightly thicker than 3/4" thick. Especially since our cat barfed on it and there was enough extra thickness that I was able to plane it off down to the finished dimension of 3/4" (phew!)
