Sometimes called Estoraque. Santos Mahogany does feature a strong color that gets darker with a finish, and the wood is extraordinarily durable. Santos Mahogany is hard, moderately difficult to saw, and has a high blunting effect on cutters. Sawdust from machining may cause respiratory irritation in some individuals.
