Arbutus manziesii   Color: Creamy tan to light pink.   Tree: A beautiful broadleaf flowering evergreen with a reddish brown trunk that grows up to 80 feet. It grows only in parts of Canada and the Pacific coast of the U.S.   Wood Description: Madrone has excellent turning properties as well as finishing qualities that make it a favorite among woodworkers who have used the wood for furniture and cabinetry. It's fine textured and dense, which makes it an exceptionally easy wood to work. The color is uniform except for an occasional darker heart inclusion that's dark purplish brown.   Typical Uses: Furniture, flooring, turnery, joinery, veneer, decorative fine woodwork.   Growth Region: Pacific USA & Canada.
