Learn about woodworking with Black Walnut

Black Walnut Furniture Squares: 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" x 30"

These turning squares are cut from premium kiln dried lumber. They're ready to be turned into furniture spindles, table legs, small accessories (letter openers, utensils, etc), and other fine woodworking projects.

Why Choose Black Walnut?

One of the most enjoyed American hardwoods for its fine-yet-open grain, unique patterns, and bold dark color. Walnut is easy to cut, shape and sand, and the wood takes on an amazing look with a clear finish.

Heartwood/Sapwood Content?

We stock walnut lumber with one of the highest possible heartwood specifications that money can buy, called 90/70. That means 90% heartwood on the face, and 70% on the back. While the heartwood content may be greater on some boards, we can not guarantee 100% heartwood.

I was very pleased with this product. Didn’t hurt that I got them at a special reduced cost at the time. The squares were perfect for the legs of a coffee table that I made. Delivery was made in a timely fashion.

Walnut lookin good!
Review by  Jim from Mesquite, NV
Received wood faster than expected. I always order 10% more wood to allow for my modification on my project. One piece of wood had a blemished edge for about 4 feet, but by ordering extra wood, I was able work around this “opportunity”. The grain in the wood was exceptional so I didn’t want to return my order. I normally go to the store near Bell road and enjoy all of the staff there.
