A beautiful piece of Zebrawood exactactly as described, delivered promptly. 8/4 quarter sawn with two sides finished.

Product was packaged way better than I expected, and the wood was just what I was hoping for. First time buyer but will be ordering more from them.

Excellent to work with. Heavy stock..nice. Finishes well with an oil based poly. Customers love the end result, albeit a bit pricy. Well worth the cost. They offer 1.5 x 1.5 x 18 in already prepped stock. Would like to see it available ina 2 x 2 x 30 inch stock. Until then...will order the 8/4 stock.

This wood is great to work with. I've made several pistol grips from it and have had great results. I normally like to start with a couple of applications of clear Danish oil but that isn't a real good idea in this case. I darkens the wood to quickly and takes a lot away from the beautiful contrast of the light wood and dark grain. Just start with thin coats of laquer and while it does still darken a little bit, it is still gorgeous. One other note for finishing: when you finish sand if you sand with the grain only you will end up with the harder grain being slightly raised and still get a great finish. This has worked really well for me on pistol grips and knife handle as it gives a texture to the wood for a more confident gripping surface. Next project: a rifle stock for my wife! I have to earn those extra hours spent in the shop! :-)
