Poor Quality

Some of the pieces looked like they were used as a baseball bat. Some had saw kerfs an 8th of and inch deep. Very disappointing

End Table Legs

I am using the red oak for End Table legs as a girt for my daughter. I had to plane them down to 1 1/2 " to get rid of some bad edges and deep saw marks. Other than that I was very satisfied with the order.

found the oak i needed...

I needed to build some 'feet' to raise up a bed to improve under-bed storage. Gluing two of these strips together and then finishing and drilling them was easy. The oak was very fine. They obviously could also have been turned into nice legs - especially if I had a lathe!

Four 2' x 2' Red Oak Turning Squares

Hello,\n Unfortunately one of the blanks has a knot (hole) that extends through the entire thickness of the blank. When I received it I thought it was merely on the edge of the blank and therefore would not be an issue after I turned it round however upon turning I discovered that the knot extends as mentioned. I cannot use this blank for the original design intended.\n\nBest Regards,\nBill Glenwright

The Oak was excellent

I would order from Woodworkers source again. I was very pleased with the lumber. It is already shaped and stain and once I get the poly on it I will have my coffee table back.

4 pc red oak turning squares

Three of the 4 pieces were in excellent condition. The fourth square had a significant corner defect along one edge of the piece. On all four pieces the grain line was excellent. You might want to consider wax dipping the ends. The pieces were extremely dry and some cracking was beginning to occur. Overall the packing was not very protective of the wood although my package came through the UPS experience fairly well.

Lucky to get 1 5/8

I am not happy with this product. A variance in stock lumber would be acceptable but I expected a more consistent dimension for turning blanks. Unfortunately, the rough sawn sides are on the short dimension so after planing I expect I will get something close to 1-5/8" X 2".
Woodworkers Source Responds
Uh oh, agreed, that's no good. Customer service will be in touch to get you some replacements.
