Thick, Wide, and Wonderful!
I ordered some 8/4 red oak lumber for a table I've been commissioned to build (a second table). The wood arrived and it was nicely figured. More importantly, the wood was flat and plenty wide for me to easily joint and plane the wood for leg assembly. Plus, the wood did not excessive planing as it arrived in good shape. I just cut tapers on the legs and they look marvelous.

I could have driven about 66 miles one way to buy this wood from a major hardwood supplier but their wood is simply too variegated in terms of color, grain, moisture and stability. Woodworkers Source sent me 10 bf that meets all my needs and is gorgeous.
