I haven't started this project yet but the 8/4 oak board is perfect and will be great for the mantle.

I ordered some 8/4 red oak lumber for a table I've been commissioned to build (a second table). The wood arrived and it was nicely figured. More importantly, the wood was flat and plenty wide for me to easily joint and plane the wood for leg assembly. Plus, the wood did not excessive planing as it arrived in good shape. I just cut tapers on the legs and they look marvelous.

Needed an 8" wide x 1-3/4" thick x 3 foot long piece of oak to restore a church pew. The wood I ordered was exactly what I got and it is fantastic.

Was just what I ordered. Had a knot in the wood, but I worked around it.

Ordered some red oak lumber to make (my first try at building chairs) a new set of dining room chairs. The lumber came as promised, and it very good quality lumber. I could have driven about 66 miles one way to buy this wood from a major hardwood supplier but their wood is simply too variegated in terms of color, grain, moisture and stability. Woodworkers Source sent me 10 bf that meets all my needs and is gorgeous.

I ordered two pieces of 12" X 12" Red Oak dimensional lumber. One piece has already been turned into a platter. Very satisfied with the wood and hat's off to the workers who picked and packaged the order.
