Almost no issues and the few issues present are easy enough to work around. No wood is perfect, but I'm very happy with how this was picked, packed and shipped.

Nice product, good valu

This lumber exceeded my expectations significantly. I had made a mistake in ordering and it was to late to change it when I realized it. I had asked for a minimum length of 17" but I needed it to be 28". All the board arrived at close to 8'. The lumber is in excellent shape and maybe when my project is done I will post some pictures.

I ordered 50 board feet of red oak. Almost 100% usable. Fantastic!!!

Read oak is inexpensive and durable. It is easy to work with as long as you don't plan on painting it. Not a gorgeous hardwood, it is perfect for drawer sides, backs and runners. It's called red oak because of its bark, not the color of the wood, but it is slightly redder than white oak. When used for tables and legs, it is durable. It performs adequately on the lathe, about as well as walnut. Its color is uniform, which makes it easy for joining. Planing it and sanding it is fairly easy. I like to use the reddish stains on it, like Varathane Classic red mahogany and red oak and not the walnut stains. Beware painting it because the tannins in the wood will leach through.

I received my order promptly and it was exactly what I was looking for.

Only one board had a problem, and that was at the end. Otherwise, everything was fine. Order arrived before the scheduled time. Excellent delivery.

What can you say, except perfect

I got a shipment of red oak. All very nice quality and packaged well. They included a custom request board that will be perfect for my project. Initially the shipment did not include all the wood I ordered, but this was rectified before I even emailed them to point it out. Great company, would buy from again.

I read the description of "Appalachian Red Oak" and knew what to expect. Having lived in the area that this species is harvested from, I know how beautiful the grain grows, I was not disappointed!!- Very straight, tight grained and perfect for the book case I want to build for my niece and her new husband (and my newest Grand Niece) , I'm very happy with every board

As always I'm Very pleased with the quality of any species I order from WWS, This "Appalachian Red Oak" is the Best Red Oak I've had in a very long time (I have been an "Heirloom Quality" Custom Woodworker for 35+ years) I was extremely happy with the tight but open grain that the 4 boards I received had, all of them were very straight, perfectly planned and the sizes were as always better than I had hoped for (I asked for 8" width and I got 8 1/2 to 9 1/2")- Once again I absolutely love the grain pattern . Excellent lumber, very satisfied

Nice wood.

Upon receiving there was a large knot in the middle of one of the pieces rendering it unuse able. Also on the same piece the was a split in the wood about 2 and half inches into the plank. This wood was ment to support a 50 pound amp that is used to power the radio. In short i had to go threw another source to another plank in time to complete the project before my friend needed it.

I didn't have a great experience last time I tried woodworkers but this time I got more that what I asked for. One piece has a slight bow but it's 12" wide so not unexpected. I'm really happy I gave them a second chance, looking forward to using some beautiful Oak-Thanks!

I saw an ad in American Woodworker, checked out the site and ordered 50 feet of 4/4 and 50 feet of 5/4. I didn't specify any special treatment or sizes. Delighted with what showed up. Good solid, clear wood with few checks in larger planks than I expected. Arrived well wrapped but not obsessively so, thus the landfill won't be quite as full. Made another order yesterday. I have high hopes that it will be good stuff. Thanks

I've always gotten great quality, clear lumber from Woodworkers' Source and this was no exception. The packing was great, the timing of the shipment was fantastic, and the price extremely reasonable.

I ordered 100 bd ft of red oak. Order arrived by UPS. No damage. Most of the boards were 6, 8, and 10 inches wide. All were right at 6 ft. long. I would not hesitate to order lumber again.

This shippment was much better than the previous one. Boards were longer and none of them warped. The normal amount of loss should be encountered with this batch.

There are a lot of big bang stores that stock red oak in Texas, but I will say that this lumber put theirs to shame. Great looking red oak, color the same on all boards, great grain. Just cant say enough about this shipment.

The wood is good. Will make a very nice surface for the project. Of all the wood I've purchased this batch was milled on one edge but had but multiple ends with cracks. This is unusual from your company. Some can be used for face framing and some is now waste. Others were damages by UPS. One of the wraped packages had a 6" gouge out of it with exposed damaged oak. I've been able to work around most of the damage but ended up getting a 20' pack as the waste was more than I figured on. On one 6' X 7" board it is necessary to rip 1" X 16" long section, a 1" X 30" section on the same side oposite end and a giant knot on the other edge on the end of the board. Those edges look like they went through a shredder. Don't usually get oak. Like working with African Mahoganey and have purchsed many board feet of 8/4 and 4/4 from your company with virtually no problems.

Wood arrived in 5 bundles all were wrapped very good because there was some damage to the wrapping but the wood inside was not damaged in any way.It took me awhile to unwrap the bundles,had to use a utility knife like you said to get at the wood.The wood itself was the nicest I could have hoped for I like it very much and so does the fellow I am building for.I am building polygon pedistal for his elk head to be displayed on,it is almost done should be able to deliver tomarrow night. My thanks to you and Robert also the other 106 wood pickers.When ever I need more wood you will be getting my order,I am very satisfied.

I bought 30 Ft of 4/4 S2S red oak online -- sight unseen. And I am completely satisfied. Communication has been excellent. Packaging was well done, and delivery was very fast. I have jointed and planed to 3/4" for use as door stiles and rails and drawer fronts. The stock has milled well with little tearout and almost no warpage. It's all FS, but grain patterm is by no means wild. Side waste will be less than 10%. I would do this all over again.

This was my first purchase but will not be my last. And it was delivered faster that I expected. Keep up the great work.
