3* 20 bf mesquite 4/4
I ordered 60bf with a squared length (which obviously reduces what you get.) I decided to calculate the received wood and it came out to 59+ bf which is more than 60 bf of mesquite should yield squaring up. Only one board (ironically the first I saw) do I think will be tough to plane to .75 inch thickness (I will make it two 2-3 foot boards at 3/4.). I didn't specify but would have preferred "knottier" mesquite (lower quality) for a more "rustic" look. I have always hated stains and this wood looks amazing with tung oil. I tried just an epoxy coat on a side table top, and the wood looks gorgeous "wet."
