Reviews for 3/4" Walnut PRE-CUT Pack, 4 Boards (Choose Your Size)

I've ordered quite a few times from WW Source; the convenience is the primary reason. What I have found is that orders are carefully selected, milled and shipped in a reasonable period of time. This order of 4/4 walnut was all 20mm in thickness and consistent width. Slight bowing in several pieces resulted in a final milled thickness of 17mm. There were minimal defects, no problem knots, minimal shipping damage but grain pattern was at best blah.\r\nSo:\r\nConvenience A\r\nProduct structural quality A-\r\nShipping B+\r\nAesthetics/grain C\r\n\r\nI have photos of these but found no way to include them with this evaluation. My advice is to allow photos and to double box your shipments.

3 of the 4 in the pack were bowed. The boards were already a small size but receiving them bowed means they will have to be planed again and even less material is usable. This might be normal for larger boards but small boards means I just wasted money.

The wood came exactly as described with no knots or splitting. Finish was great, all I had to do was cut to size and attach. Just some light sanding to finish. I was very pleased with the look and quality of the pieces.

I purchased 9 of these boards. Only 2 of them were bowed enough to worry about - one has just over a 1" rise across the total 6' length. I'll have to cut that one down, plane/join it flat, and use it as a shelf or something. The others are mostly flat, less than 1/4" of bow along the 6' length. All of them will need run through the joiner to achieve perfect straightness. I should end up with 1/2" straight and flat boards when finished, which works out great for me.\\n\\n3 boards have large knots, but only on one face of the board. I can probably hide the knots on this project, assuming they don't tear out in the planar, and the cathedrals on the opposite side are attractive. None of the boards have twist, which is great.\\n\\nAll the peices have nice grain and figure. They are all dimensioned to the same size. 3/4" x 5.5" x 6'.\\n\\nPackaging was good and shipping was reasonably fast. Only 1 board had a dent from shipping, and I think I can iron it out.\\n\\nAll in all, I'm happy with the product and couldn't really expect much better. Thanks guys!

Both cherry and walnut 1 x3 x3 ft boards had a 1/8" twist. Did not effect the projects they were bought for but wouldn't be good for large projects. The various dowels purchased at the same time were excellent.

Beautiful wood, beautiful grain. Well finished, perfect for my projects.

I wanted an 1x6x6 to make a wooden beer mug for my father, and I have to say I am very impressed with the grain for a "hobby board". Certainly FAS grade.

Beautiful walnut, dimensioned properly. Only one of the six boards has a knot that I will cut around or perhaps incorporate as a focal in a project. Delivery was excellent and packaging was exceptional.

I need and an extra piece of Black Walnut miscalculated the number of boards I need for the project. Excellent dimensioned hobby boards. Nice grain pattern nice color, straight and true. I love the black walnut!

Really Awesome Black walnut, the boards are nice and straight only 1 out of 8 Boards was slight bowed. Nice clean edges beautiful grain pattern from the walnut. This was my first purchase with Woodworks Source, and I gotta tell you I'm extremely satisfied with the quality of the product. I would definitely purchase again!
