Some of the boards had cracks and checks...but over-all...... boards were a good selection. It was a craft package set....so one can't complain.

I have totally fallen in love with this wood! I got it "free" as scraps left over from a job I did.\nI used it to make "boxes" which I fronted with teapots cut from 3/8 Birch plywood. I used an assortment of fabrics and glued to the front of the teapots then used resin to create a protective coating. I used oriental fabrics for the zebrawood as I thought it went with the feel of the wood.\nThis wood is very hard and it managed to terminate my '96 mitre saw. Finished the project with a substantial jig saw! Whew!\nI used Danish Oil to finish the boxes and find the end result - probably 6 coats of the oil - incredibly rich and so enhancing the light and dark lines of the wood. What I have is definitely the "Heartwood" variety.\nI had to drill holes for the nails. Pain - but worth the extra effort. Never worked with such hard wood before but have never seen any wood so gorgeous either!
