The only thing I do not like about this wood is its propensity for spelching (back side blowout). Any crosscut will give you splintering. That said, I do enjoy working with it.
I've made a couple chairs with it. It shapes, sands, glues, and finishes well. The color pops with a little oil.

Best Mahogany alternative yet!!!
I have used Red Grandis for exterior millwork and some doors, and it is very stable, very easy to work with, and the color consistency is equal to non.
