I recently purchased small orders from Woodworker’s Source and was satisfied, but was hesitant for a while to pull the trigger and purchase a large order of 4/4 quartersawn oak, since the wood is moderately expensive and I like to go through the boards to find ones that have personal appeal…However, I am extremely satisfied with what the picker at The Woodworker’s Source chose for me. I purchased 100 board feet, although I only needed about 60 for a desk project, but I ordered more, erring on the side of caution that some of the boards I might receive will be unusable. I was so very wrong. The picker (Gil) assigned to my order, picked beautiful wood; 100% of the lumber is totally usable, and now I have the good problem of picking which boards I want to use for my project. My order was processed and shipped very fast, and I received all 100 board feet of lumber 5 days after I clicked submit on their order web page. Thank you guys for the service you provide!

I was skeptical buying these boards online but the boards were straight and clean. No problems whatsoever. Couldn't have picked and milled them better myself.

You may need to finely plane this wood , it all came perfect - got the ripped edge just to make my flow easier

I just received 103 bf of white oak. Could not be more pleased. With one or two exceptions, the boards are without cupping or curves. The grain is beautiful.

I had expectations before getting this wonderful white oak, but never expected to receive such fine pieces. As I looked over this, I couldn't help but feel that the person who picked this out actually thought about the customer. I am blown away big-time. This is the finest quarter sawn white oak I have ever seen. The over-the-top care that was taken by the picker makes me want to order only more from these folks. - In fact, the quality I received exceeds what my local stores could offer by a long shot. For me, I will now be a returning customer thanks to this company, and the person, who picked this wood out.

Great quality and selection.

Ordered 10 sq ft of lumber to my specifications. Completed in 3 days and shipping took about 10 days. Pleased with the quality of the wood, this was my first time ordering wood online but the website was very user-friendly. Made a center leaf for a friend's 100 year old table.

My order arrived within a week in great shape. I had heart palpitations when I opened it up. It was beautiful and almost perfectly clear. I used it to make a raised top coffee table for my sister. I don't think I have ever seen such exceptional quartersawn figuring.

I have placed several orders with Woodworkerssource.com and have yet to be disappointed. The biggest piece of advice i can give is to provide at least a small amount of detail on your project and some reasonable board requirements. My latest project involves a width of over 12" and i knew i would have to glue up a couple boards to get my width. When explaining this on my order i was pleased to see that they sent some boards that were wider than what was listed on the site. They really want a happy cuatomer and are willing to work with you to get the best results for you. Thanks to all for getting me another great order of VERY nice boards.

I ordered four board feet of quarter sawn white oak to use as a tray and desk while sitting in an armchair. I sanded it and applied tung oil. This transformed it into a rich, golden brown with the rays characteristic of quarter sawn white oak. It's nice to look at touch while I work. I didn't ask much of it. It's just a board. But it is beautiful.

All the lumber I ordered I would rate as excellent (applies to 4/4 and 8/4). All boards were straight and true with nearly zero "defects" and an absolute minimum of sap-wood. This was my first venture into mail-order stock. I am very satisfied and will be a repeat customer

I recently ordered 15ft of the Quarter Sawn white oak. I wasn't sure how nice the would be and intended to wait what there selection would be like. I received the wood in a couple of days and it was great. I intended to order more while it was on sale but by the time I got around to it the sale was over. I have ordered wood from Woodworkers Source several times over the last couple of years. I have never received any wood that I wouldn't have picked myself.

I know 4/4 wood has a minimum actual size of 13/16". And if you are lucky enough to receive a good shipment i.e., no cupping, warping, etc. this size shouldn't be a problem when milling down to 3/4" thickness. However, the slightest imperfection in the wood will cause problems. I had no problems with what I was making getting the pieces to a final 3/4" thickness because the wood I received had no cupping, warping, etc issues. This is why I gave this shipment 5 stars. I have received a different species of wood in the past where I wasn't so lucky. The grain was nice and straight. The boards were nice and straight and flat. I couldn't ask for more.

When it's cut this way my projects have directions on the wood. Or like my girlfriend says: "Even you can't screw this one up Fred." I guess the guys at Woodworkers took pity on me every time I get some quarter sawn lumber delivered. Buy with confidence. This stuff makes projects go smooth.

There was very little 'tiger' striping, effect on the wood. Only 3 of the 8 pieces where really any different from a standard sawn white oak. it was delivered on time, but it was raining and the wood was not rain protected, so lost 1 piece with a bad warp to it. If it rain where you live...heads up

I was really unsure about buying this wood without being able to pick it out, but the price was good and I ordered 10 boardfeet. I was nervous opening up the package when it arrived, but I got some beautiful boards that I don't think I could have picked better myself. The coupons you included will come in handy!

I made a coffee table out of quarter sawn oak that I got the plans from a Woodsmith magazine. Came out great. Next time this goes on sale, I'm going to load up on more and make a pair of matching end tables. Great wood to work with, makes proud furniture!
