I bought this to make some cutting boards, the color is strikingly beautiful. Would compliment maple or walnut real nicely.

The 8/4 is beautiful, just not as beautiful as the 4/4. Grain is pretty straight. The wood is massive! I love this stuff! My only complaint thus far is the padauk dulls my cabinet scrapers pretty quickly because it is so dense. No way around that one, I suppose.

Clean material, nice and straight

I made a 6' by 4' dining room table from 5 slabs of paduak, biscuited and glued. Lot of sanding, jointed with Powermatic 6 foot table with Bird knives. Used epoxy with paduak dust to fill pores and that really brought out the grain. The wood chosen for me was excellent, almost no warping and lost about 1/16th inch with finishing. Very messy with dust and should really use a respirator, which I didnt. The table is absolutely beautiful, started out with excellent slabs.

I absolutely love this wood! It is beautiful! I haven't used this particular piece yet, but I have mixed padauk in with a few cutting boards and some wood turning projects. The wood always comes wrapped nicely and in good shape.

I usually don't write reviews, but during this desperate time I took a chance buying lumber site unseen! Let me tell you, these guys did not disappoint one bit. Both pieces of lumber are excellent and exactly what I asked for! If you are question wether or not to order from them, don't hesitate on doing it. Order two pieces of Padauk for a solid body guitar. I was very pleased with the grain structure on these two pieces.

The boards were of excellent quality. I will lose very little wood for prep to glue up. The boards were oversized as stated in the advertisement. The boards were free of defects.

I ended up cutting and joing this. I have no idea how the grain matched up as well...I could have not have hoped for that. As for the look of the wood...the board was flawless, with just the right amount of grain contrast. I couldn't have hand picked any better for myself...given a day at the yard.
