Reviews for African Mahogany (Quarter Sawn) 4/4 Lumber

Some pieces were very slightly warped. But with a planer very easily fixed with minimal thickness subtracted from the pieces. No knots in the wood at all. Just overall great quality. My cabinets look really good. Thanks for your help guys!

I used this for a decorative table runner for a client. Lumber was nicely planed. I ordered one ripped edge so it made my project go that much more smoothly. Beautiful wood!

I bought mahogany in two rounds from Woodworkers Source. My first purchase was 6 boards about 4/4 by 6' by 6'.\nAll but one of the boards was exceptional. Of course it was the board with the most amazing character that was the problem child. No worries though, will mill it down to smaller stock for another project. This project was a 24" x 40" console height table with a single drawer. The legs are three pieces of 2 3/4 wide pieces laminated then tapered. They came out great. I needed just a bit more material and purchased several shorter boards which arrived in +8" widths, straight and beautiful.

The 4/4 wood was planed but still needed some work, however, I only had about a 3/32 of an inch to work with and still keep it at 3/4 inch. There were, in my opinion, a number of boards that needed work. Website says 6' to 14' lengths (usually) - I had no boards over 5' which caused me an issue but was able to work around it. Next time I will be sure to specify my length needs. Finally, there were many boards that had some amazing grain patterns so that was a big +.

Very happy. One piece was exceptionally beautiful. I will be a return customer for sure.
