Reviews for 1-3/4" Black Limba Pre-Cut Squares

The wood is very light and my pieces were very plain with no interesting characteristics. I turned them round and took them off the lathe. Just plain light colored light weight wood.

received 2- 30" turning squares as I ordered. I have never used this wood before so didn't know anything about black Limba, except that it was supposed to be hardwood.\none was very nice and seemed about the consistency of the purple heart I received. The other piece is much lighter in weight and rather porous. I don't know if this is normal for this wood but the appearance is quite different from the first piece, so I wouldn't use them both in the same project. although I think they are both beautiful grain just not the same and couldn't use together.

I bought this wood to build a night stand. I asked Woodworkers Source to select pieces with a lot of black streaking and they did just that for me. The wood is just beautiful. It cut easily and smoothly for me. It took stain nicely (I used a conditioner to fill the pores first) and I ended up with a very nice night stand.
