I couldn't find knotty alder anywhere locally so I took a chance and ordered from your company. I am extremely pleased with what you shipped. Arrived in good shape, was selected professionally based on the quality of the boards and consistency of the grains.

I was hoping for more distress and knots but they sent best boards available which is never a bad thing.

I made a “cabinet" of 1/2" birch plywood. Knotty Alder is used for other cabinets in our home, so I faced the cabinet with Knotty Alder stained Ted Chesnut. One coat of shellac followed by 3 coats of stain and 2 coats of polyurethane spray. Could not find Knotty Alder at local lumber suppliers.

My first time to order with woodwoekerssource.com, and at first I was a bit uncomfortable, due to orders with other companies. After placing and receiving this order, I will be doing more. Pricing was great, I wanted 20 board feet, not a problem, shipping was very quick, and packaged to be damage free. Very pleased, definitely five stars.!! They also follow thru with email updates.

I had drawn up the tables for my "personal" project, the material list included an extra 3bf. of knotty alder, the shipment had included 4, 24" pcs, this would have been alright, but all 24" pcs had split's half way, I contacted WWS and Kirk immediately ask what could he do to complete my project, the other 4 bf. was shipped the next day- nothing but first class customer service, this woodworker won't order from any other supplier, every order has been much better than any that could be found within 400+ miles- thanks very much guys, pictures to follow when the finish is applied

The lumber recieved was of better quality than I expected. Packaging was excellent and wood was straight and none cupped. I can't get this type in Pa. so I had to order online and was hesitant. I will have no worries ordering again.

I'm really happpy with this load of wood. The boards were all very uniform in size and quality. I was especially impressed with the length of each board. There won't be much waste when cutting the parts for the kitchen island I am planning to build with this wood. Thanks again for great quality and affordable pricing.

Ordered it mainly because of the price. Will not do again as several pieces still had some bark or saw/scuff marks on the wood. I have ordered many other woods in the past and have never been disappointed until now.

Even though it was knotty it was better than expected. I believe i won't get a bad order very satisfied costumer.

Nicely packaged product, better than others I have ordered. Very good product at an extremely good price. I am making cabinet doors and frames with this wood and it machines nicely. For an economical project this is hard to beat.

I bought a load of this from the local store. I have made several small projects for my office including a shadow box to hold medals, picture frames and a business card holder that I had laser engraved with the company logo. I am almost finished with a raised panel desk. The wood cuts and shapes well and takes stain nicely. If you like the rustic look of knots, this is the wood for you.

The lumber I received was well dried, straight, and of excellent quality. I even had some planks that were wider than promised and saved me some time gluing pieces together.

Love it - I have planed some & left some rough - then made into plaques & engraved photos on them. Thanks guys!

I bought some Alder wood, and it came exactly as I was hoping, exactly when you said it would come, and looks great. I can't wait to start working with the various pieces. I would definitely order from you again.

Unhappy in Illinois. I thought s2s was sanded two sides. I also thought the wood was planed to 13/16 inch. My wood is at least 15/16 inch. I received wood that has bark on the face. Of the three pieces I received two have splits on the ends. Now I understand why the knotty alder was so cheap. I just wish I could use it for a project. I might be able to hold open a door with it. It may be a while, or never again, if I place another order.
