Ordered goncalo Alves/tiger wood and it was perfect. All boards were near the same in character and size so it made it really easy to work with. Packaged well. Will definitely buy again from this company.

this was very good quality lumber. The order after this one was not good. I rely on the board being flat when i get it because 13/16 is my drop dead thickness I can use. Jointing the board would render it to thin. The board I got today had very significant twist. I will continue to buy this, but im gonna need flatter. I know it cant be perfect but get me to the ball park.

This was part of a small order and my first time ordering any wood on-line. I'd do it again. The could not have selected a better piece. This was needed for a rustic coffee table top. The board I received was straight and required minimal sanding. The grain and color gorgeous.

Was able to take advantage of a good discount and received great service.

It does not look like the picture it looks like it has black, white, and a cherry color to it on the picture but when it arived it was a faker cherry with good grain

Again, another outstanding selection. I have made a dining room table and chairs with the first 25 bdf of this wood and chandlier and celing fan blades with the remidents from the first two orders of this wood with superb results. This wood has become my new favorite wood.

Some what dissapointed in the actual color verses the picture of this wood, however, great to work with and takes a high natural polish

I ordered 3 pcs 6" x 96" and as always- Very much impressed with my order, this is my first time working with Goncalo Alves and I love how hard it is, how very tight the grain is- I wish the three pcs I received had more of the Marble that the highly figured pcs had, but I can't complain, Very smooth, Very straight- I will want some more as I have some special projects upcoming- Thanks Again WWS

I have never used this species before (Goncola Alves) and decided to try it. Your info on the wood characteristics was certainly correct, it was heavy and hard. One thing to add, wear gloves when handling. The edges give up sprinters easily and are painful due to hardness of the wood. Your team sent a beautiful selection of wide boards that I will put to good use on my next project. Just a magnificent looking wood, almost doesn't need finishing, but where is the fun in that?

My wood looks nothing like the pictures provided, I'm assuming it's the right species but I'm a little let down.

Came as one completely tan board, with maybe 2 or 3 spots that were a SHADE darker. Plain red oak is prettier. Ordered this board over a year ago and is still sitting on my rack unused. Thought I just misjudged the pics on the website but when my local lumberyard got some in stock I knew I wasted my money here. They had deep black streaking throughout all their boards (which apparently this website only sells as "special") To date I've ordered through woodworkerssource 4 or 5 times and this was the only bad experience, but man, what an expensive and lifeless board they sent me.

I wanted to make a keepsake box from this wood. My plans were to bbuild a box with a decorative rose on the face, pretty much covering 80% of the top lid. After l finished the box before aplying the rose l sprayed a light coat of clear laquer over the entire box. Well needless to say the beauty of the wood was stunning. So because of that l decided to leave out the rose and let the natural beauty of this wood show itself.

Yeah one of my most favorite woods especially when it has good stripes.
