This wood is easily sawn, but sanding while effective is more difficult. However, the results are startling....absolutely beautiful with a simple finishing wax product. I have used many exotic hardwoods in various projects, but this wood bests them all in character, finish and beauty. ...Really spectacular. Can't wait to make a table using this wood.

Curupay 4/4 Lumber
This was my 1st time dealing with Curupay species , I needed a very HARD and "not seen every day" species to go with the 4/4 Figured Jatoba Unique Item I also received with this order, my one and only complaint with the 8' board I received, is it had a loose knot in the very middle , but I'm working around it- along with the Bocote this project will be VERY hard species all the way around- and very beautiful color along with tight grain in this piece
Familiarity: I've used it in a LOT of projects

Curupay Review
A beautiful wood however it is difficult to turn because of the hardness and varied grain direction. It combines well with bloodwood and forms a beautiful contrast of colors. The quality supplied is consistantly very good in both quality and color. It is one of my "primaries" in segmented bowls.
Familiarity: I've used it in several projects
