Armed saguaro disco lamp

After spending over an hour at the Elliot Rd store I decided on a nice piece of shedua. It turned out to be a great match for the saguaro arm. If anyone knows of another, I would love to hear about it, I planed 1 side of a girthy rib then ran it through the planer. What was left was a plank of saguaro "lumber". Has anyone ever heard of seen anything like it? There will be a vertical from the top that will go against the wall and project LEDSMore updates to come. After another 90 hours of sanding 😎 I hope to build my name building functional works of art. My next project is a coffee table/ end table set. Any thoughts on other species that might look good with saguaro?
