Black Walnut Door

I used 4/4 Black Walnut and laminated the planks together. The door slab ended up about 1-5/8” thick. I routed 3/8 channels about 11” apart and placed stainless steel rods in them. I also mortised in hidden self closing hardware into the top of the door and the jamb for a clean look. It was finished with a warm walnut gel stain and 4 coats of satin polyurethane. -- Orginally posted by Anthony
