Projects by John Felten

Although I was originally interested in large-scale woodworking, I enrolled in a marquetry class at the Port Townsend School of Woodworking in 2012, and was hooked. I have continued to develop my skills in marquetry, inlay, and veneering, and view them as tools to probe my personalities creative and artistic elements. I am a member of the American Marquetry Society and the Rocky Mountain Marquetry Guild and the Marquetry Society in the UK. I enjoys this technique because it allows me to add a distinctive touch that sets a project apart from others. It allows for a different level of personal expression, so the boxes and trays that I creates become a canvas for something additionally artistic.
