Commissioned urns

This is a set of 5 urns a friend asked me to create for her mother's ashes and to have room for her father's as well when he passes in the future. The large box is Bloodwood had been in my garage wood shop for some time and required a great deal of planing to get it flat again. Bloodwood has some really beautiful grain to it, so I always plan how to get the best looking area in front or on top. The top is created from 2 pieces jointed together and the grain blended beautifully. Inside is flocked with black.

The other four boxes are blood wood Walnut Rosewood and zebra wood going left to right in the image.
