Bleached Wenge Plate

I made this plate set with one that's bleached and one that's not. You can see a video about the wood and how it's done in the link to the plans below.

Wenge is especially interesting when you drench it in a coat of household liquid bleach before finishing.

It turns an intense and electric white-and-black color within just 30 to 45 minutes. Wipe it off, then let the work dry before a little light sanding and a finish of whatever is appropriate for your project.
