Cheese Board & Bowls

David never rushed his work. In his quiet workshop tucked behind the garden, he spent his days turning rough blocks of wood into cheese boards and bowls that felt more like heirlooms than kitchenware.

He favored walnut and cherry, woods with warmth and soul. Each board was shaped by hand, the edges soft, the grain carefully followed like a river’s path. His bowls were turned on the lathe with the patience of a potter—every curve meant to be cradled in the palm.

David didn’t mass-produce. He made pieces in small batches, letting the wood guide him. Some had knots, some had swirls, all had stories. When he wrapped a finished set in kraft paper and twine, he imagined them at family tables—cradling olives, holding aged cheddar, passed from hand to hand with laughter.

He liked to say, “I don’t just make things to serve food. I make them to serve moments.”
