Cutting Boards / Cheese Boards

In a cozy little shop tucked between a bakery and a florist, Lena displayed her handmade cutting boards — smooth slabs of walnut, maple, and ash, each with its own subtle curves and carved groove edges. They weren’t just tools, she insisted. They were invitations.

By day, they served faithfully in kitchens — steady under knives, bearing the brunt of onions, garlic, and tomatoes. But when the sun dipped low and guests arrived, they transformed. Suddenly, they were cheese boards, dressed in brie and sharp cheddar, olives glistening, grapes tumbling across the grain like marbles.

People started calling them “Lena’s Two-Timers.” A wink of a name for boards that did double duty — workhorses by morning, entertainers by night.

One customer said, “It’s not just a board. It’s how I go from cooking alone to sharing a meal.”

Lena smiled. That’s what she’d hoped for all along.
