Mystery Mallet

This is the mystery mallet and a real challenge. Tried to use Walnut head for contrast but the pressure broke the head in three pieces and I went through a couple of Walnut heads.. Not a big fan of self abuse so I switched to Hickory. I did have a slight tear out along the edge of the sliding dovetail but overall I am pleased with the results. Probably won’t do another one for awhile.
