Tempe-grown Orchid Tree bookcase

Bookcase built from self-milled dead branches on a still-standing Orchid Tree (Bauhinia variegata) in my yard in Tempe. The tree eventually died and was removed but was standing at the time I built the bookcase. Small, crooked branches required biscuit joining of many small strips. Orchid Tree is a tropical Asian legume, similar in some ways to Mesquite but softer and easier to work. Semi-common landscaping tree in Arizona but this remains the largest one I have seen.
