Afromosia Dining Room Table

Solid wood dining table with arched legs. 3D Design created in Sketchup to get look and dimensions. Selected Afromosia because of color and appealing grain. Found the wood to be a joy to work with (although prior to sanding I got the most splinters of any project I've done). Created patterns for the arched legs using VCarve and my Shark CNC. Apron was made with 48 beveled pieces careful fit and sanded round. Doweled the arched legs together, and used E-Z LOK threaded inserts to connect the two base pieces (half-lap joint) as well as to connect the legs to the base. This allows the table to be disassembled and moved easily.

Finish: Dark Walnut stain and polyurethane
