Solid Walnut Mid-century Modern Console Table

This beautiful specimen of an end table gives a nod to the modern design trends of the 1950's and 60's with a fistful of woodworking feats of courage. Hugh built the whole piece from solid walnut lumber, fashioned the console top with tricky lock-miter joints, gave the legs some tapers and facets, used a gorgeous bridle joint in the legs for good measure, ANNNND left a knot proudly displayed on the top because he wanted to.
