Fly Reel Storage Box

I built this box using a router, chisel and file to create the cavity in both the top and bottom pieces. Many times it is easier just to cut the top off the box, cut out the middle and glue the top back on. I choose to do it this way to see if I could avoid creating another glue joint, especially since the inside of the cavity would be covered with foam. I used tear away foam, however it did not go as planned and was very difficult to cut by hand. I thought I could cut the foam to size once glued down, however I was unable to and was forced to burn the foam to the approximate level of the wood. For future boxes I plan to use my bandsaw instead to cut the thickness of the foam. Nice simple box to protect my fly reel when traveling to and from the fish.
