Open Vortex Salad Bowl

Jack Dohallow was a woodworker who loved creating functional pieces that were also works of art. One afternoon, he got an idea while making a simple salad for lunch. What if a salad bowl could be more than just a bowl? What if it could look like something that was still coming together, like a vortex slowly spinning?

Jack immediately grabbed his tools and began shaping the wood. He carved the bowl in a way that made it look like the edges were spiraling inward, as if they were in motion, drawing everything into the center. The bowl was open and airy, with curved, elegant lines that seemed to twist up from the base, creating a sense of energy. He smoothed the wood until it gleamed and gave it a light finish to bring out the grain.

When the bowl was finished, Jack couldn’t wait to show it off. He placed it on the kitchen table and filled it with fresh greens, bright vegetables, and a few sprigs of herbs.

At dinner, his friend Maya admired the bowl. "It looks like it's moving!" she said, running her fingers along the spiral edge. "It’s beautiful, but how did you make it?"

Jack smiled. “It’s called the Vortex Salad Bowl. I wanted it to look like something was swirling together, even when it was standing still.”

Everyone marveled at the bowl and how it seemed to bring a little extra life to the dinner table. It wasn’t just a place for salad; it became the centerpiece of the evening, sparking conversation and admiration. The Vortex Salad Bowl wasn’t just functional—it had a sense of movement and energy, reminding everyone that even a simple salad could have a bit of magic.
