Tall Jewelry Cabinet with Drawers

Because my daughter has a lot of necklaces, she wanted a tall cabinet to hang them. I included two drawers for the rings and earrings, too. You need extra curly maple in order to arrange the grain or plan the cuts to use the figure in exactly the project parts you want, but I think it's worth the effort. Didn't have a large enough piece of veneer to make the door with one panel, so had to do it in two panels with a stile in the center.

For the finish, I used a coat of dewaxed shellac to "lock" the light color of the maple and to give the figure a little boost. And then I used General Finishes HHigh Performance Water Based Topcoat because it does a remarkable job at remaining clear and keeping the maple from yellowing over time.
