The walnut I received was great. I got a call before shipment telling me that a lot of the walnut on hand was sappy bit they could guarantee one good side. That worked for me. Wood arrived exactly as expected almost pure heartwood on at least one side. \nI gave it 4 stars only because of the price. I have since found a local dealer for about 1/3 less with very similar quality.

Just hard to judge the wood until matching the grain in a project. I will let you know after the table project.

Very pretty wood and I was overall happy with the entire order, but I did get one plank of black walnut that was warped. Since these pieces were supposed to be used for guitar necks, the warped piece was useless in that respect. However, I can still use it to create heels, headstocks, and the like, so I didn't complain or attempt to return it. 5 stars otherwise. Very nice wood and well packaged for delivery too. I highly recommend WWS!

Sharp grains with minimal dents and band marks. Only 1 board cracked all the way through. Very pleased.

Aside from the pricey shipping to VA, I have no complaints. The 4/4 walnut was average "select" grade lumber.

It should be smooth on one side, for use as a table top, etc.\nThe grain is nice an tight, and the color is very nice. I would order this product again.\nThe order desk was fabulous and the service was excellent.
