Some of y&#8217;all have a vastly different idea of what belongs in a living room than I do. \ud83d\ude42<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>You folks really knocked it out of the park this time with a record-setting 199 entered projects, and everything from traditional end tables to abstract wall hangings. What an awesome collection handcrafted woodwork in one spot!<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We had a great evening with a live awards event and a live jazz band to set the mood for a chill happy hour of food, drink, and admiration of almost 200 wood projects under one roof.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>We\u2019re really thrilled when so many of you marshal what it takes to submit a project to our contest.  I know that it\u2019s more than a little nerve-wracking to share a wood project with total strangers because you&#8217;ve poured a lot of love, energy and time into making it happen. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>But because you did, you&#8217;ve played a big part in what makes this event so fun and unique.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>So here are a few photos of the top voted projects and a couple others that I think deserve a nod. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Give these folks a good old fashioned &#8220;congrats&#8221; for a job well done.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u2013 Mark<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4>How Did The Voting&nbsp;Work?<\/h4>\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-4 text-center\">\n<h4 style=\"color: #00843d;\"><i class=\"fa fa-user\"><\/i> Voting, Not Judging<\/h4>\n<p><small>Voting is open to anyone who comes to browse the projects in person<\/small><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"col-sm-4 text-center\">\n<h4 style=\"color: #00843d;\"><i class=\"fa fa-thumbs-up\"><\/i> Pick 5<\/h4>\n<p><small>The vote ballot simply asks for your personal favorite 5 projects. Kerry made one amazing piece of art. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Birch, walnut<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"postheadline wp-block-heading\">3rd Place &#8211; $100<br>&#8220;Elk on The Mountain&#8221; by Dawn Martin<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>And the great state of Arizona gets a little nod in the top 3!  Life in Flagstaff, AZ inspired Dawn to craft this 330-piece intarsia scene of snow-capped San Francisco Peaks (Humphrey&#8217;s, Agassiz, and Fremont) and some of the critters you might get to see in the area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Maple, purple heart, poplar, zebrawood, walnut, mahogany, sapele, cherry, wenge<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_1_placeholder\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"postheadline wp-block-heading\">Honorable Mentions<\/h2>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_2_placeholder\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"postheadline wp-block-heading\">Mark&#8217;s Mentions<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>There are always a few projects that I want to call out because, for one reason or another, they resonated with me.  We&#8217;ve all got our own ideas of what is or isn&#8217;t living room art&#8230;.
