To Be Frank: Do Not Wait

Look, this has been a wild year. And it’s had a rather unflattering affect on how fast we can deliver lumber to your door. Regretfully, it’s taking longer than usual, and much longer than we consider acceptable.

While woodworkers are usually great at planning out projects and getting started, we’re also notorious for underestimating how much time we need to complete a project and for procrastinating at getting a project finished.

Oh come on, you know it’s true.

This year a lot of people have turned to woodworking to pass the time, learn a new skill, create art, or just knock out some long-overdue projects. I’m overjoyed to report that we’ve supplied a record amount of lumber to folks like yourself this year. We’ve even doubled our staff and spread out the shifts in reaction to the volume of orders and, of course, the safety precautions we’ve gotta take to ensure a safe workplace.

If there’s one thing we can count on, woodworkers build a lot of gifts this time of year. Y’all are depending on your lumber suppliers to have what you need to get your gifts built.

So I’m giving you a heads-up that all signs are pointing to a rather hectic woodworking season. Between the delightful surge in woodworking, and the surge in shopping online for UPS and FedEx, lumber right to your door will take longer than usual.

Our hearts are warmed to see all the great projects you’re making, and I really don’t want to disappoint you. So I urge you to expect and plan for additional time when it comes to stocking up on your lumber.

We’ve Turned the Knobs Up to 11

You’d have to see it to appreciate it, but to ship your orders quickly and with the quality and attention to detail that you expect, we’ve added a lot of people, and a lot of inventory. But as of this writing, I’m not confident I can guarantee any orders placed after Thanksgiving will get to you before Christmas.

Anything can happen, so I could be wrong. But based on the trend so far I want to give you some brass-tacks about what’s going on and what you can do about it.

You always have the ability to check your order status online to know:

  • When your order ships
  • Your expected delivery date
  • If any issues arise with your order
