[+] What if I need specific sizes? You'll have to cut your own pieces to size. Hardwood lumber is sold as a bulk raw product, which means that our stacks of lumber have a big variety of sizes most often from 4" up to 12" wide, and 6' to 16' long.
- Only some unusual exotic woods are narrower than 4" and under 6' long. This is clearly stated when that's the case, everything else is larger.
- We always ship the longest boards possible, and rarely ship boards less than 48" long unless you request shorter. The longest we can ship by UPS is 96" (that's 8').
For general fine woodworking, the various widths and lengths meet the needs and desires of woodworkers building furniture, cabinetry, and fine woodwork. But we do understand that certain projects have some requirements, and we're happy to help you out.
Here's how we can help you get the sizes you need:
- We can hand-select material that will yeild what you need. Type your needs into the "Selection" field right above the Add to Cart button above when you place your order. 4 things to know about size requests
- We can do some custom milling or cutting. Please call or email to talk about your needs.

This lumber order exceeded my expectations. The quality of the lumber is top notch -- nice grain and no knots. The quality of the communications and the securely packaged items and quick shipping were of the highest level. I will be purchasing more lumber for my next project from Woodworkers Source. Outstanding people to do business with.

One piece was perfect, one has a knot that goes half way through the width of the board right at the center. that spot is going to end up in the project, it'll just have to face the back. Otherwise i'm happy with the purchase.

Excellent Quarter Sawn White Oak, 9.8.2010

The quarter sawn white oak supplied was just what I needed; all of the piece sizes I asked for were delivered. The quality of the wood was exceptional and I was happy to notice that the few pieces that did contain some small knots were not included in the final size measurements. I really can't think of anything to say that might improve the product, the packaging, or the delivery time - it was all right on the mark. This was my first online purchase of lumber from Woodworkers Source but it definitely won't be my last!

I was really unsure about buying this wood without being able to pick it out, but the price was good and I ordered 10 boardfeet. I was nervous opening up the package when it arrived, but I got some beautiful boards that I don't think I could have picked better myself. The coupons you included will come in handy!
