Showing off a consistent color that's much like Mahogany, this ribbon stripe Sapele comes with a much lower price. The ribbon stripe figure comes from quarter sawing the log - the interlocked grain of Sapele produces the length wise stripes, or "ribbons." (See this picture in our Project Gallery) An added benefit to quarter sawn lumber is the utmost stability.
Thickness: 13/16'' thick, surfaced smooth two sides (4/4 S2S)
Widths: 4''-10'' with the edges still rough. Straight line ripping on one edge is available as well (see below).
Lengths: Up to 8'. Longer lengths may be available for local pick up or truck freight shipment. Contact us to verify.
Grade: Select & Better. See our page about Hardwood Grading for some details about common lumber grades and their definitions.
All lumber is kiln dried, surfaced smooth on both sides, and available in a wide variety of sizes. We can do custom cutting and milling for you, too! Contact us.

Not only was the wood beautiful but the service, quality and promptness (I ordered on Friday and got it Wednesday) of delivery was excellent. You guys have it together and I look forward to many more purchases. I live in Las Vegas so I plan to come and visit the store sometime soon.
Keep up the good work and all the best.

Considering how tough it is to get good quality honduran mahogany these days, sapele is my new choice. In some regards it looks better and works just as nicely. And it's less money. One of my latest projects was a sideboard made from this wood and I think it came out great. Sapele is also favorable to work with, so I'll be using it more and more in the future.

A few months back I bought some of this wood at the Tempe store and they let me pick through this stack that was as high as my chest. I nabbed a bunch of boards. Stuff was beautiful. It saws okay but likes to move a little bit. But man its pretty stuff.
