Cumaru comes from
Botanical Name: Amburana cearensis
Other Names: Amburana, Cerejeira, Cumare, Ishpingo, Palo Trebol, Roble del pais, Cerejeira rajada, Brazilian Oak

Color: Tan-like yellow to medium brown with a slight orange-red cast that darkens with age.
Characteristics: A strong, tough, resilient wood. Naturally durable and weather resistant; good resistance to insect attack as well. Cumaru is extraordinarily stable and also provides a moderate blunting effect on cutters and blades. Accepts varnish satisfactorily.
Typical Uses: Flooring, ship building, cabinetry, musical instruments, heavy construction, fine furniture, etc.
