[+] What if I need specific sizes? You'll have to cut your own pieces to size. Hardwood lumber is sold as a bulk raw product, which means that our stacks of lumber have a big variety of sizes most often from 4" up to 12" wide, and 6' to 16' long.
- Only some unusual exotic woods are narrower than 4" and under 6' long. This is clearly stated when that's the case, everything else is larger.
- We always ship the longest boards possible, and rarely ship boards less than 48" long unless you request shorter. The longest we can ship by UPS is 96" (that's 8').
For general fine woodworking, the various widths and lengths meet the needs and desires of woodworkers building furniture, cabinetry, and fine woodwork. But we do understand that certain projects have some requirements, and we're happy to help you out.
Here's how we can help you get the sizes you need:
- We can hand-select material that will yeild what you need. Type your needs into the "Selection" field right above the Add to Cart button above when you place your order. 4 things to know about size requests
- We can do some custom milling or cutting. Please call or email to talk about your needs.
Ground Shipping is included anywhere in the 48 U.S.! (What does that mean?)

Botanical Name: Acer saccharum
What's the wood like?
Exactly the same species as Hard White Maple, the only difference is Country Maple contains the dark brown heartwood as well as pale white sapwood - it hasn't been manually sorted for solid white color. Known for its durability and strength. It has excellent turning properties , a fine, even texture, a natural luster. Somewhat difficult to work due to high surface hardness. Paints and finishes very well

Creamy white to yellowish or pale tan with dark brown bands and streaks. The variety of inconsistent color gives it a rustic, or country, appearance.
Does it go by other names?
Brown Hard maple, Rustic Maple, Rock maple, Sugar maple
What could I use it for?
Furniture, flooring, industrial parts, desks, cabinetry, doors, cutting boards, small boxes and accessories
What is the tree like?
Also called Hard Rock Maple or Sugar Maple. Produces sweet sap used to make maple syrup. Matures at heights of 90-120 feet with a trunk 24-36.
Where is it from?
Northeastern USA & Canada.

I was on pins and needles waiting for my order to arrive. It was a cold winter morning in the mountains of Idaho when UPS pulled up in the driveway, I ran out to the truck like a child at Christmas not able to hide my excitement. I took the carefully wrapped bundle into the shop and carefully removed the gold leaf cardboard outer wrapping, ooohhhh the anticipation was unbearable!!! I finally reached the inner sanctum and oh the delight of seeing the beauty of the hand selected material was beyond belief. But seriously it was the best material I have use in a long while. Thank you guys very much for your hard work, I will definitely use more of your products if they are of the same caliber.

There is one piece that I might not be able to use, other than that every thing looks very good. The weather here has been to cold to work in my shop ( no heat ). When the weather warms up I well get to work, and well send pic's when done.
