I've been redoing a good portion of my backyard with a paver patio and some garden beds. One of the jobs that came along was refurbishing the barbeque grill because it had seen a lot of brutal sunshine over the years. Repainted it, built a stone enclosure and then added these finishing touches of a side serving table and cabinet door made with white oak. They're finished with Deft exterior oil because it's a great wood protector. White oak resists rot pretty well already, but the finish helps keep the wood looking nice. The slats are 2-1/4" wide, rounded over 3/16" on the edges, and held in place with tongue and groove joints.
