Beautiful wood! It's a little hard but nice and dark. Took old masters gel poly finish really well. Used it for a few picture frames and pens.

Pleased with this wood. Used it as an inlay on a pair of end tables and turned the left over into some pen sets.

Kind of splintery wood. but it really is beautiful. Really dark, but not quite black. There are these little fine grain lines that I liked, so I made a jewelry box. Used a little maple on the base of it for accent. Came out darn nice if I say so myself. I don't know how to say the name of this wood, but it's pretty stuff.
