Woodworkers go to bed at night thinking about cherry. What else is like it? Virtually nothing. That beautiful red color, fine grain, and phenomenal performance with hand tools and power tools all make cherry a memorable and favorite wood.
Sizes you can expect:
13/16'' thick, surfaced smooth two sides (4/4 S2S)
5''-10'' variety of widths are in stock, edges are rough. Straight line ripping on one edge is available above.
Lengths Up to 8' (longer available for local pick up or truck shipment, call for more information)
You'll have to cut your own pieces to size. Hardwood lumber is sold as a bulk raw product, which means that our stacks of lumber have a big variety of sizes most often from 4" up to 12" wide, and 6' to 16' long.
Only some unusual exotic woods are narrower than 4" and under 6' long. This is clearly stated when that's the case, everything else is larger.
We always ship the longest boards possible, and rarely ship boards less than 48" long unless you request shorter. The longest we can ship by UPS is 96" (that's 8').
For general fine woodworking, the various widths and lengths meet the needs and desires of woodworkers building furniture, cabinetry, and fine woodwork. But we do understand that certain projects have some requirements, and we're happy to help you out.
Here's how we can help you get the sizes you need:
We can hand-select material that will yield what you need. Type your needs into the "Selection Request" field right above the Add to Cart button above when you place your order. 4 things to know about size requests
We can do some limited custom milling such as planing to a different thickness and straight-line ripping one edge. Please call or email to talk about your needs.

2 wildly different looks for the same order. I ordered what amounts to 4/ 10 x 96 inch boards (4/4) One was over 50% sap wood, one was 30% sap wood and the other two 95% heart wood. How am I going to put these 4 boards together into one table top? If all 4 boards were close to the same percentage of sap wood...50+, 30+, 5% +...that would have been great. I know cherry darkens over time, and that you can adjust the difference between the sap and heart woods with BLO, dies etc. My intent was a simple clear oil based finish only... as there is some black walnut in the piece as well. Now I have to let it 'sun tan'...and see where it ends up.
great quality lumber, 4.18.2013

The sizes were all very workable with lots of useable widths and lengths.
I have purchased nearly 1,000 board feet of nearly 30 different species from Woodworkers source and I have NEVER been disappointed with even 1 board foot.
Don't be worried Canadian woodworkers, these people know what they are doing with across-the-board shipping. I have received wood delivered to my doorstep cheaper than I can buy for in Regina (shipping included).
Thanks Craig & Robert

As I've said in other reviews, this 20 bf of cherry was clearly chosen by someone who took the care he/she would if building with it themself. The wood is all really clean and will be a joy to use.
And kudos to the packaging person. This arrived tight, well protected, and I truly believe waterproof. (That shrink wrapped plastic was thick and full coverage.)
Thanks again for and excellent experience.
