Get the durability and strength of classic hard maple with additional character ... for less money. It's still regular hard maple, but this time the boards have a mix of color; both white sapwood and brown heartwood. Hard Maple, you see, is one of those unusual trees whose outer sapwood boards often get set aside and sold for more money by the sawmill. Because this 'country maple' has a mixture of white and brown, it means that the boys down at the sawmill didn't spend their afternoons picking out boards for the white stuff -- which is why country maple is much cheaper, yet still has that iimpressive brawn and might of hard white maple.
Sizes you can expect:

[+] What if I need specific sizes? You'll have to cut your own pieces to size. Hardwood lumber is sold as a bulk raw product, which means that our stacks of lumber have a big variety of sizes most often from 4" up to 12" wide, and 6' to 16' long.
- Only some unusual exotic woods are narrower than 4" and under 6' long. This is clearly stated when that's the case, everything else is larger.
- We always ship the longest boards possible, and rarely ship boards less than 48" long unless you request shorter. The longest we can ship by UPS is 96" (that's 8').
For general fine woodworking, the various widths and lengths meet the needs and desires of woodworkers building furniture, cabinetry, and fine woodwork. But we do understand that certain projects have some requirements, and we're happy to help you out.
Here's how we can help you get the sizes you need:
- We can hand-select material that will yeild what you need. Type your needs into the "Selection" field right above the Add to Cart button above when you place your order. 4 things to know about size requests
- We can do some custom milling or cutting. Please call or email to talk about your needs.
- Thickness: 13/16'' thick, surfaced smooth two sides (4/4 S2S)
- Widths: 4''-10'' variety of widths are in stock, edges are rough. Straight line ripping on one edge is available above.
- Lengths: Up to 8' (longer available for local pick up or truck shipment, call for more information)

I was frist interested because of the price. (I hate the cheap word but that's what got my attension.) After reading the description it seemed like something I would like to try so I ordered some. I was very pleased with what I got. The selection they sent was great. So far I have just started one small project with it but I think it is going to look wonderful. I believe I will be getting more.
