Soft Maple Bowl Blanks 2-3/4"x11"x11"

A nice size for turning, and the 11" dimension allows this blank to be mounted on a lathe with a 12" capacity.
Soft maple turns and shapes much easier than hard maple, and therefore makes a fine wood for honing your skills. Soft maple can also be one of your best choices for dying the wood with rich colors, or even black, for dramatic effects. Get creative and let your imagination go wild when you decide to turn soft maple.

Carolina red maple, Drummond red maple, Maple, Red maple, Scarlet maple, Soft maple, Swamp maple, Water maple
Color:
Cream white to reddish brown.
Characteristics:
Resembles Hard Maple being closed-grained but much softer. Easily worked. Turns and planes well. Does not require fillers to achieve a glass smooth finish. Accepts finish and paint well
Typical Uses:
Furniture, cabinets, a good general purpose hardwood
