These beautiful platter blanks measure 1-3/4'' thick and 17"x17" square - you're going to need a heck of a lathe and a dose of courage to spin one of these. Bubinga, though, takes a fantastic clear finish and exhibits awesome maroon to purple color and unique grain patterns. You'll love it.

Fine grained. Hard and heavy. Takes a high lustrous finish. The wood works without difficulty except for gum pockets. Some logs are figured with a wavy, roey grain.
