[+] What if I need specific sizes? You'll have to cut your own pieces to size. Hardwood lumber is sold as a bulk raw product, which means that our stacks of lumber have a big variety of sizes most often from 4" up to 12" wide, and 6' to 16' long.
- Only some unusual exotic woods are narrower than 4" and under 6' long. This is clearly stated when that's the case, everything else is larger.
- We always ship the longest boards possible, and rarely ship boards less than 48" long unless you request shorter. The longest we can ship by UPS is 96" (that's 8').
For general fine woodworking, the various widths and lengths meet the needs and desires of woodworkers building furniture, cabinetry, and fine woodwork. But we do understand that certain projects have some requirements, and we're happy to help you out.
Here's how we can help you get the sizes you need:
- We can hand-select material that will yeild what you need. Type your needs into the "Selection" field right above the Add to Cart button above when you place your order. 4 things to know about size requests
- We can do some custom milling or cutting. Please call or email to talk about your needs.

Great lumber. I have purchased several different types of lumber from you in the past and have always been satisfied. Already made 1 bedroom set from cherry and now am making another for the master bedroom.

About 4 years ago I ordered around 200 LBF of the cherry and was very happy with what I got (so happy I'm back shopping for more lumber). Anyways, I over estimated assuming a slightly higher scrap factor since I did not hand pick the lumber, but it was not needed as they did an excellent job of selecting for me. Out of the 200 board foot, I had one board with significant checking and that was it. And in counting the LBF they didn't count the checked part of the board. Anyways great company, and if you have pricey local suppliers, they are an outstanding option!

The Cherry is beautiful, and the sizes are good. Most of the boards are 8' 1 x 8's. The grain is very nice and the colors are a pretty good match. Making large panels should be easy.
The mistake I made was not getting the material milled on one edge. The $0.25/foot charge is well worth it. It will save a lot of time.
With respect to waste, there should be much less than the 30% I had figured based on other suppliers stock.
If this is any indication of the products that Woodworkers Svc., they have won a customer for life. The stock is well worth the price!

Perfect wood! I ordered from [company name removed] because their price was lower than yours but the quality wasn't even close to what you've got. I won't make that mistake again.
