This lumber couldn't be easier to buy, or be any better looking. It's clean and smooth on all sides, and specified for clear wood. This Poplar is pre-milled into 13/16''x5-1/2'' boards making it easy for you. It's the same clear poplar we always stock, except this is already surfaced on all 4 sides and cut to 5-1/2 wide. Purchase by the lineal foot.
Sizes you can expect:
Thickness
13/16'' thick, surfaced smooth |
Widths
All boards are sawn to 5-1/2'' and have smooth edges |
Lengths 6' to 8' (we ship the longest lengths possible, unless you request short) |

[+] What if I need specific sizes? You'll have to cut your own pieces to size. Hardwood lumber is sold as a bulk raw product, which means that our stacks of lumber have a big variety of sizes most often from 4" up to 12" wide, and 6' to 16' long.
- Only some unusual exotic woods are narrower than 4" and under 6' long. This is clearly stated when that's the case, everything else is larger.
- We always ship the longest boards possible, and rarely ship boards less than 48" long unless you request shorter. The longest we can ship by UPS is 96" (that's 8').
For general fine woodworking, the various widths and lengths meet the needs and desires of woodworkers building furniture, cabinetry, and fine woodwork. But we do understand that certain projects have some requirements, and we're happy to help you out.
Here's how we can help you get the sizes you need:
- We can hand-select material that will yeild what you need. Type your needs into the "Selection" field right above the Add to Cart button above when you place your order. 4 things to know about size requests
- We can do some custom milling or cutting. Please call or email to talk about your needs.
- Thickness: 13/16'' thick, surfaced smooth
- Widths: All boards are sawn to 5-1/2'' and have smooth edges
- Lengths: 6' to 8' (we ship the longest lengths possible, unless you request short)

I used to pick my own wood at Tucson's Woodworkers Store but I'm too far (Safford AZ)so I ordered 100 bf of poplar for some face frames and was very diappointed the wood was twisted, was not 3/4" it was 13/16" marks from foot prints , dents ... not cheap , Home Depot has better and for less $$$

I bought 100 bf to make drawers for a large cabinet. Boards were all good, little or no waste. Uniform size made my production work much faster. Good price too.
