While the wood is hard and attractive (with a similarity to Brazilian Rosewood and Morado), the interlocked grain makes it difficult to plane and carve. Jacaranda Para does accept a glassy smooth finish with little trouble.
Color Range
Dark purple to violet purple, and somewhat dark brown to nearly black. Also features dark lines and stripes.
Other Names
Jacaranda pardo, Jacaranda amarello, Jacaranda do cerrado, Jacaranda escuro, Jacaranda do mato, Jacaranda paulista, Jacaranda pedra, Jacaranda roxo

I just received my second order from you and it was great just like the first. I especially like your site where you show the hardness of all woods. I like working with the softer type woods and your site is wonderful. I will be ordering more soon. Thanks for the great service.
